2025 AGM Treasurers Report
In 2023/24 we had a number of donations:-
£1000 Donation from Janet Cass and a £1012 donation for Pat Stayley. The Brentwood Arts Council have gave us support with a £500 grant for which we are grateful. Some of the donation from Pat has been used to buy a new storage shed which is now installed within the barn, to protect costumes and other delicate items.
So the 2024/25 Financial year started with a good bank balance of £5,350.02
During the year we have done a number of shows/events:
- 03/25 The Lady Killers: which made a £410 profit – however have not (yet) been charged for the school hire/porters costs.
- 07/25 WWII Anniversary for Brentwood arts council: which made a small profit of just over £7 – no bill for the school use received.
- 10/25 Variation on a Theme: which made a loss of £545. The school is now charging for rent of the hall as well as porters overtime costs.
- 08/25 Afternoon Tea: made a loss of £43
- 09/25 Quiz Night shared with the Hutton Players: Very successful which made a profit of £220 (per club).
The school costs have increased due to private school VAT and various other tax increases. So charges to us have also been increased. They now also charge a nominal hall rental fee as well as porters overtime costs.
We are overall making a loss, so we do need to review ticket prices.
